Part 3: Recent Publications on Strategy (c60 minutes to listen to podcasts/ write up mini-essays, c20-30 minutes Discussion Forum)

Here you have a choice:-

I have selected two books on corporate strategy.

A. Accelerating Out of the Great Recession: How to Win in a Slow Growth Economy
B. The Lords of Strategy: The Secret History of the New Corporate World

The books are very different, but both were published recently. Please read the information below and choose ONE of the books, then please listen to the Podcasts , visit the relevant links and do any further research you want. Then please email me ( rf.gesei|sbbig.b#rf.gesei|sbbig.b ) a mini-essay of 100-500 works which includes:

 A summary of the authors’ argument (i.e. What are they saying?)
 Your reaction to it (i.e. Do you agree/ disagree and why?, why are the issues covered important/ relevant?)

Here are details of the two books:

A) Recession: Strategy in the current global economic environment

During a time of slow growth, companies need to be more mindful and innovative. David Rhodes is a senior partner and managing director of the London office of The Boston Consulting Group and the global leader of the Financial Institutions practice. He and his colleague Daniel Stelter have written the new book Accelerating Out of the Great Recession: How to Win in a Slow Growth Economy http://accelerating.bcg.com/;
